Frequently Asked Questions
What can I purchase now?
In-stock note-card sets are available now. Fine-art paper, canvas, and metal prints are coming soon. Browse the photographs now, and subscribe to Excursions & Digressions for availability updates.
Are frames or mats included?
Paper prints are supplied without a mat, frame, or hanging hardware. Metal prints come with a float mount. Stretched canvas prints arrive with a hanging wire installed before shipping. Please see each product listing for its presentation and finishing details.
What sizes are available?
Available sizes are listed on each photograph’s product page. Please check the dimensions before ordering to make sure the artwork suits your space. Room mockups can help you visualize a print, but please measure your own space. A piece of cardboard cut to the print’s dimensions can help you judge its size. For paper prints, the listed size refers to the image itself, not the full sheet. The one-inch white border adds two inches to each sheet dimension. For example, a 20 × 16-inch image comes on a 22 × 18-inch sheet.
What is the difference between paper, canvas, and metal prints?
Paper prints should be matted and framed for protection. Canvas prints have a textured surface and can be displayed unframed, or you may choose to have them framed. Each metal print presents the image on a ChromaLuxe aluminum panel. Please see each listing for materials and finishing details.
Will the colors match what I see on my screen?
Colors may vary slightly between your screen and the finished artwork. Monitor settings and the surface on which a photograph is printed can affect its appearance.
Will my artwork have a watermark?
Watermarks appear only on website preview images to help protect my photography. Your purchased prints or note cards will not include a watermark.
How soon will my order ship?
In-stock note card sets are packed and shipped by me within three business days. Delivery time is additional. Prints are coming soon; production and shipping details will be provided when print sales begin.
What is included in a note card set?
Each set contains six photographic note cards printed on glossy stock, with six envelopes. The cards measure 5 × 7 inches, with a 4.5 × 6.5-inch image and surrounding margins. They are blank inside, ready for your message. And yes, people do mat and frame the note cards.
What happens if a note card set is sold out?
I keep a limited inventory of note card sets ready to ship. If a set is marked “Sold out,” I may be preparing a new batch. Feel free to email me at deanglawe01@gmail.com to ask about restocking.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Please contact me promptly at deanglawe01@gmail.com. Include your order number and photographs of the damaged item and packaging.
Can I request a custom size?
If you’re interested in a size not shown on the product page, please email me at deanglawe01@gmail.com. I’ll let you know whether a suitable size is available for that photograph and provide pricing before you order.
May I reproduce a photograph after purchasing a print?
In plain English, no. Purchasing a print or note card does not transfer copyright or grant permission to reproduce the photograph. Please email me at deanglawe01@gmail.com if you’re interested in licensing an image.
Why would I want to subscribe to your newsletter?
Honestly, it depends on what you’re looking for. If you want a relentless parade of promotions and flash sales, this isn’t it. If you’d enjoy a monthly journal from a photographer who has been at this since the Eisenhower administration and still finds photography interesting, it might appeal to you. In each monthly issue, I write about new work, how a particular image came to be, and the landscapes, creatures, and quiet corners of Montana and beyond that keep drawing me back. Excursions & Digressions has been arriving in readers’ inboxes every month for more than five years. There’s no algorithm involved, no sponsored content, no filler. The newsletter is free, and you can unsubscribe anytime. I won’t take it personally.
